Interview tips to get high salary

Interview tips to get high salary

In order to get a high salary level in a recruitment interview, you must know how to create your “brand name” as well as understand well about the employer…

Following are 5 tips for you to get a high salary offer:

1. Make yourself a brand:

To advertise yourself to the employer, you need to consider yourself as a brand and try to make use of all available tools to persuade the employer that you are the most suitable for the position.

Firstly, you need to prepare a slogan introducing yourself impressively in the interview. Don’t bring into this slogan such boring words about the jobs you have been worked as. Instead, you can emphasize that you are, for example, a specialist, a sensitive seller, an efficient persuader, or a flexible worker under high pressure. Such sentence will not only show your ability in your last job but also mention your ability, skill and strength.

2. Understand well about the employer:

One of the factors that create the huge difference between successful candidates with high salary and people who for entire life live on a moderate income is that they understand well about the employer before the interview. If you are well knowledgeable about the company, about its business guideline at present and in the future, about its customers and competitors, or you may even recommend some new business idea to the company, you will surely get the preference of the employer. They will know that you really care for their company, have ability to think independently, are flexible but not a hard-working “bee” who only works as assigned to.

3. Appropriate dressing for the position:

Remember that “Clothes don’t make the man”, so wear clothes that are suitable to the position and salary level as you demand for. You cannot get promoted in career if you keep your old appearance. Polite clothing will make good impression to the employer.

4. Don’t be prolix:

For every question, try to answer clearly and briefly, and stop. If you feel you need to continue speaking but the interviewer doesn’t ask you the next question, you will be assessed as a lack-of-confidence person. This is only a technique in interview. Sometimes, the interviewer purposely sends you into difficult circumstance to see how you handle it. Don’t be trapped by him/her by being self-confident and be active in what you say.

5. Ask for jobs:

Ask many things about the job and try to make recommendation for better efficiency like you are holding that job. If you want to assure your victory, show the employer that you are a strong and determined person. No company is willing to pay high salary to a shy candidate. If you want the job, ask the employer for it. Interviewers will highly appreciate determined candidates, especially for management position.
